What Summer Is Asking of Us

The arrival of a new season always feels like an invitation to me. Not another thing to add to our already full lives.

An invitation.

As summer arrived this past weekend, I found myself thinking about the wisdom of summer and wondering what this season might be asking of us in midlife.

Spring invites us to trust what is taking root, even when we can’t yet see the full bloom.

Autumn teaches us to let go of what is no longer ours to carry.

Winter reminds us that rest is productive in its own way.

And summer?
